CGM is a small wearable sensor used to measure sugar levels in your body throughout the day. It translates the glucose in your blood into personalized dynamic data to show your glucose trend and rate of change in the Veri App on your smartphone.
And that's where the magic happens –the knowledge you get back 🪄✨! A CGM can provide real-time insights into how your body reacts to different meals and activities such as sleep and exercise.
We use Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre glucose sensor, which is around the size of a quarter and gets applied to the back of the upper arm. The sensor seamlessly pairs with your smartphone through NFC technology. Therefore, you can simply scan the sensor with your smartphone to get a glucose reading in an instant.
The sensor automatically measures your blood sugar levels every 15 minutes and stores the information for up to eight hours. You can wear it for up to 14 days after which it must be removed and replaced with a new one.
And there's no slowing you down. The sensor is water-proof, which allows any sport and daily activities such as showering normally.
Needle-phobic can people rejoice because there isn't one –just a tiny, rubbery filament that you do not feel. The thickness of the filamentis less than 0.4 mm (same as about 10 human hairs), and it only sits about 5mm under the skin of the arm, so most people feel no discomfort at all.
The removal is similar to pulling off a band-aid and does not require any special procedure.
